District Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment can be enhanced with Temporary Anchorage Devices. (TADs) I use TADs to support the arch while extruding difficult teeth with braces. This canine was below the gums. We exposed the canine and placed a bracket on it, and then we placed a wire under the bracket to help bring the canine into the right place using braces. The TAD is a screw placed in the gum. It doesn’t hurt to place, maintain or remove the TAD. I place a wire between the TAD and the premolar bracket to keep the premolar from moving lower. The canine now will get the entire correction from the orthodontic treatment. TADs are free with orthodontic treatment in both our Salt Lake Office and our District – South Jordan Office.
